CREATING A STRESS FREE HOLIDAY
The holidays can be a whirlwind, but they don’t have to be stressful! I’m here to help you create a calm, joyful, and stress-free season. Keep reading for three simple ways to bring more peace and presence into your holidays.
The holiday season is officially here—a time filled with gatherings, gift shopping, and endless to-do lists. Between parties, cards, and family commitments, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. But with a few mindful shifts, you can enjoy this time of year and create memories that truly make you smile.
Here are three of my favourite ways to ease the stress and embrace the joy of the season:
1. Be present.
It’s so easy to get caught up in distractions—especially our phones. Try leaving your phone in another room when spending time with loved ones. When you feel your mind wandering, take a moment to ground yourself by tuning into your senses. Ask yourself: What do I see, hear, smell, or feel right now? This simple practice helps you reconnect with the moment and the people around you. It’s a powerful tool not just for the holidays, but all year long.
2. Let go of expectations.
Much of our holiday stress comes from wanting everything to be perfect. But perfection isn’t the goal—connection and joy are. When things don’t go exactly as planned (and they rarely do!), focus on finding gratitude in the moment. Laugh off the little mishaps, embrace the imperfections, and remember that the best memories often come from the unexpected.
3. Keep moving.
Even during the busiest days, make time for movement. A short walk after dinner, a quick stretch in the morning, or a few minutes of dancing to your favourite holiday tunes can do wonders for your mood and energy. Bundle up, get outside, and breathe in the crisp winter air—it’s one of the best ways to clear your mind and lift your spirits.
