Maybe Health Gets Easier When We Stop Starting Over Every Monday
This week, I had so many conversations with women about how frustrating slow progress can feel.
And honestly, I don’t think we talk about that part enough.
Because sometimes it feels like you’re doing all the things:
working out
trying to eat better
getting more protein in
drinking the water
trying to stay consistent
…and your body responds with absolutely zero urgency whatsoever
Meanwhile, your brain is over there like:
“HELLO? We’ve been eating protein and going for walks for 6 weeks now.”
I’ve been having a lot of conversations lately with friends and long talks with myself, about how mentally HARD slow progress can feel sometimes, especially when our bodies don’t respond the way they used to.
And the number of women who messaged me saying:
“This is exactly how I feel.”
made me realize how many of us are quietly struggling with this.
I think a lot of us are so quick to assume we’re failing.
One dinner out?
Start over Monday.
One cupcake?
Well… guess the whole week is ruined now
One stressful weekend?
Time to survive on salads and sadness
But maybe healthy habits aren’t supposed to feel like punishment all the time.
Maybe wellness actually works better when we stop swinging between:
“being really good.”
and
“Forget it.”
That’s why I’ve been trying to make healthy habits feel easier rather than stricter.
Things like:
keeping easier grab & go options in the freezer
having mindful snacks around that actually keep me full
making balanced meals instead of perfect ones
trying to slow down while I eat
and learning how to get back to my routines quicker instead of acting like one off day ruined everything
I also shared this week that stress eating might not always be about “lack of willpower.”
Sometimes we’re just:
overwhelmed
exhausted
emotionally drained
or running on coffee and good intentions
And apparently, standing in the kitchen eating random snacks while unloading the dishwasher is an experience many of us share 😂
The more I work on my own health, the more I realize our body often needs support more than punishment.
Sometimes eating less actually backfires.
Sometimes skipping meals leaves us thinking about food all day.
Sometimes trying so hard to “be good” just leaves us feeling stuck, frustrated, and exhausted.
And honestly?
I think real wellness probably looks a lot more boring and balanced than social media makes it seem
It’s consistency.
It’s simple habits.
It’s learning how to support your body while still living real life.
No dramatic reset required
